General English Course
IELC’s General English courses are multi-skilled courses that take students to an advanced level of English using a communicative methodology, focusing on fluency and accuracy. There are opportunities to develop reading and writing abilities as well as engaging activities designed to develop advanced thinking skills. With the use of stimulating reading and listening materials, the courses systematically develop and enhance the student’s language skills.
Mixed team-teaching involving professional native-speaker and non-native speaker teachers combines the best of both worlds. Non-native speaker teachers understand the student’s learning process first hand while native speaker teachers provide an authentic source of language and context.
Students can carry out further online research on the topics discussed in the lessons with the help of classroom internet connectivity. Students gain more factual context for the topics, leading to a more realistic use of English.
Students are encouraged to use English in the classroom at all times, with assistance from teachers. This creates a natural learning environment where all skills are practiced consistently throughout the lessons.
SPECIAL PURPOSES COURSES
Lessons can be delivered in group or private classes depending on the student’s needs and requirements. The courses are tailored to the individual student’s interests, taking account of individual time constraints and creating a unique learning experience in the process.
